Food & Drink

Breakfast is served in the dining room. The beautiful polished table adds to the decor of this regency decorated room. Views are across the garden to the River Rede. Normal breakfast time is between 8.00am - 9.30am but different times can be arranged the night before for early risers!

Your choice from the kitchen includes the usual cereals, fruit juice and yoghurts followed by a full Northumbrian breakfast with free range eggs and a selection of preserves and toast.

Fish is another speciality breakfast with a choice of rainbow trout, kippers or smoked haddock, we also have a Vegetarian special breakfast - ask about that mornings specialities. You may also choose from fried, scrambled , boiled or poached eggs.

Packed lunches can be arranged with 48 hours notice.

Eating Out

There are a host of fantastic places to eat out just a short walk or drive away from Yellow House you can also enjoy a BBQ in the garden – BBQ packs are available to cook your own.

The Bay Horse Inn -within walking distance - serves traditional pub meals, a Sunday Carvery and drinks in a cosy, historicatmosphere in the old coaching Inn dating back to the 17th Century.

Otterburn Castle is a country house hotel and restaurant. Only 4 miles away in the village of Otterburn in historic surroundings – dating back to the Battle of Otterburn in 1388!. The menu uses fresh local meats from nearby farms and has a wood panelled restaurant which is very unique.

Otterburn Mill in Otterburn is a great place to visit for fashion and mementos of your visit. The cafe uses home made produce and is clean and fresh - Try the garden tables when weather permits.

The Redesdale Arms or known locally as the First & Last ( First hotel in England coming from Scotland and thelast coming from the south! )Using organic produce this is traditional pub food with a plentiful choice of dishes and take aways. - 7 miles from Yellow House on the A68 north.

The Coach House – hidden away in Otterburn in the Otterburn Hall estate – brilliant dining and Take Aways – dining here is a memory to cherish.

The Border Reiver – in Otterburn - all you would expect from a thriving village shop including Take Aways on certain evenings.
